Here's the short of it:

Picked up a Voit steel tank for $25 with a hydro date of 08/11, manufacture date was 1968

Used one rattle can of rust-o-leum cold galvanized and a metallic zinc enriched top coat and let it sit with the lamps due to the cold weather we've been having here in Florida; helps the curing process.

End product, nice looking tank that's easy to touch up.

Again thanks to Paladin for helping me understand this process.

The links don't work. Why not post directly to SB? Hit the "Go Advanced" button, then go to manage attachments. You can upload pics from there.

Okay I fixed them, I'll upload diectly next time ... Thanks

The tanks look nice. You did a good job on them.

That nice, now you need a Voit to go with it. By the way, are you joining us at Sand Dog ?

Yes I am, going to double check the drill schedule to be sure. I took my Aqua Master rig to dive a reef in Key West this weekend and boy did that cause a stir down there in a good way. Turned into a show and tell with some of the Boat owners calling in their friends to see and back in the day when I learned to dive stories. Also did some shallow recovery work for beer, free tank fills and a cheap dive, Great weekend!

If you like, go over to VDH and shoot me a PM with your info, I am keeping a list of who is attending.

I would like to attend, but I'll be in the UAE diving in the Gulf of Oman with Divers Down

@Herman - I'll do that today

@Mask down, fins moving Paladin!

:Looking good AGAIN. Your last tank inspired me to want to do a restore myself ... I have been on the hunt for some old steel 72s ever since. Of course I cant find any since I'm searching for them. Found a guy selling 10 of them over on VDH but I'm having issues registering over there for some reason so I can't post or PM the guy.

Anyway, looks good man. I'm only a little jealous :D
