At least things were tried. I didn't know that there was no substitute for whale's milk. I guess I assumed without researching it properly. As an EMS (emergency medical services) worker for over 40 years, I've seen way too many abandoned children in much the same situation. They all make you want to cry, and you feel so frustrated. For some reason, this hit me just as hard.
