What would you want in a $2500 regulator?

I'd expect a free, new reg instead of annual servicing. A subscription for eternal free replacements.

I would take absolute reliability and low cost of maintenance design. I want none of the fancy electronics, O2/H2 sensor, disconnect, battery ... in my regulator.

I’d want free lifetime service parts for 1st and 2nd stages and a free included class on self servicing them.
If they agreed to that then it might be worth it.
