I got the book Doing It Right: The Fundamentals of Better Diving By Jarrod Jablonski on the way that should answer most of my question I have about DIR. At least I hope so
Its more of an overview than an "answer most of your questions" kind of book. It gets to to start asking the right questions, but I have it on good authority that enlightenment is held back until you actually take the class. Which I haven't been able to work into my schedule (yet)...

If it teaches more then I know now then I am better then I was before I got the book. I fully expect to learn ten times more if I take a class then from any book. I learn best by doing. If I take the DIR-F and I do not end up ceritifed I am pretty sure I will get certified the second go around.

I wouldn't count on getting accepted into any tech training at this point though. Though are going to require that you have a lot more experience.

The "dark side?" If it's such a dark side, why are you reading the DIR thread? I'm not interested in it at all, but there are those who are, and they certainly have the right to do as they please. Especially if they weren't even one of your students, and not even Naui to begin with, I would think.
