Mares is simple. They have stayed "progressive" including deep stop ability, so it matches diving philosophy currently endorsed.

Not trying to go off topic, or start a "whole different discussion", but my perception here is that we are talking about Recreational, Non-Decompression diving. Lot's of computers have "Deep Stop" functionality, (as does my Suunto D4i). Who is "currently endorsing" Deep Stops ? I thought "the jury was still out" on this ? Here is a great article on the subject.
