WHY did i go home to LA THIS weekend?!

There was that sperm whale that washed up a few months ago too, on our campus.

Tempted to go back up and take a look at it. The sperm whale was buried on the beach...I wonder what they'll do for this whale though.
 
I saw one boating offshore once - the more impressive site was all the sharks feeding on the carcass - glad I wasn't in the water!!
 
I have been seeing a dozen whales each day off of point Fermin for the last few days. They were alone or only in pairs in July but this month they are in large groups of 6 or more.
 
I crossed the Channel back to Catalina today. Not a sign of the carcass. There have been a fairly large number (~50) of blue whales in our region this summer.
 
Poor guy....:(
 
It was up here in Ventura Sat. A lady that works with Teresa said she took pictures of it from the shore.
