Keys Wreck Dive Turns Deadly « CBS Miami
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A dive on one of Key Largo’s most popular wrecks turned deadly for a visitor from Pittsburgh.
Monday morning Andrei Kukushkin, 51, was on board a private vessel with friends who planned to dive the Duane.
After diving the wreck for about 30 minutes they decided it was time to ascend. When Kukushkin showed signs of having trouble as he surfaced, other divers tried to reach him. He then stopped moving, turned on his side and began to drift away.
A diver already on board the boat went after him and was able to bring him back to the boat, where they began performing CPR. The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission took over and transported Kukushkin back to shore at Harry Harris Park where waiting paramedics took him to Mariner’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of his death.

How sad, I will say a prayer for him and his family and friends. A lost is always a hard thing to go through.

At least is sounds like it was witnessed and they quickly recovered the body, which will help narrow the field of possibilities somewhat and give loved ones a measure of peace. Wonder what the 'signs of having trouble' were?

Richard.
