Bristol man, 42, dies after being pulled from water while diving off Rumstick Point - News - providencejournal.com - Providence, RI
BRISTOL, R.I. — A 42-year-old Bristol man has died after being pulled from the water off of Rumstick Point Friday morning.
Kenneth Watkinson, 42, was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital at 9:53 a.m., after being rushed there by Bristol rescuers earlier in the morning, according to a news release from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, whose law division is investigating the death.
The cause of death will be determined by the state Medical Examiner.
Watkinson was diving with another man who noticed he had failed to surface and called for help at 8:41 a.m.
Units from several communities working with the Narragansett Bay Marine Task force searched the area, eventually located the diver and rushed him to the hospital.
