Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 68-year-old diver who died while returning to shore on a boat Monday morning.
According to police, they were alerted around 10.40am, Monday, 23 January that the man had lost consciousness on a private boat as it made its way to the Lobster Pot dock in George Town.
“It appears that the man had been diving with some friends and, a short time after getting back on board the boat, he collapsed and lost consciousness,” a police press release stated.
Once the boat arrived at the dock, the man, a Cayman Islands resident from West Bay, was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Great news for vacation divers who cannot talk themselves into buying a personal CO tank tester!

Now let's see more CO readings in your trip reports, ok...??
