After questioning the three surviving divers, the authorities have released some information about the dive.

The three divers (one stayed in the boat) were diving on the wreck "São Paulo", at a depth of about 80 meters/ 260 feet. The deceased had some problems during the ascent, at about 40 m/ 130'.
All the divers were experienced, some were also instructors. The had been diving the same wreck for a few days before the accident occurred.

"São Paulo" is considered "one of the most dangerous wrecks in Norway" due to the depth, strong currents, heavy surface traffic and a lot of rope and fishing gear around the wreck. In 1995, a diver died on the same wreck.

According to "bergens tidene", the diver that was found on the safety stop, was sitting on the bottom showing the thumbs up as a sign for "OK" to the rescue divers, making me wonder about the divers training. But most likely it is the journalist that have missunderstanded something while writing the article. Would be interesting with more info about their dive plan, depth, bottom time, age and experience level.

The media now says that the dead danish diver was 50 years old, and that they probably was diving the shipwreck of "São Paulo" (WRECK WRAK EPAVE WRACK PECIO) meaning that they would have been down to a depth of 75-90 meters (246-295 ft)
