Hi all. My husband and I are in the midst of planning a trip for October of this year to celebrate my 50th birthday and our 20th wedding anniversary. After weeks of working on a trip to Kenya the costs were spiraling so out of control I have gone back to the drawing board, and am considering a dive/safari trip in South Africa. I've read a bout a few, found a couple websites White Shark Diving Tours | Shark Cage Diving Cape Town for example...

My husband and I are advanced divers and photographers, looking for the best of both worlds!

Anyone have any personal experience with these? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You should also consider diving at either or both Sodwana- South Africa and some of the dive sites in Mozambique like Ponta Du Ouro or Inhambane which is further north. These dives will be much warmer than in Cape Town and the underwater life is abundant as well. A very reputable dive operator in SA will be Scubascene - one of the better operators with tour packages and contacts allover !
Enjoy !

You should look into combining The Kruger Park with diving in Mozambique. It's cheaper than Kenya or Tanzania and the Kruger Park is just "next" to the Inhambane province where you can find exciting diving. There are good package deals from S.A. operators combining the two areas and activities. I've used Shark Alley Team in S.A. (I think Elna was the name of the girl) and they were great: sharkalley.co.za

good luck

Hi if you still need help with this, let me know and I can make a tailor made dive package for you. I would also be able to give youth contact number of a South African living in the US that would be able to give you a lot of advise. She used to dive with me many years ago and has also worked as an instructor in Mexico
Good luck and enjoy your trip
