I dont think they do a case for the P72 at least I cant find one from sony.

Iowa Diver you need a Sony MPK-P9 housing. Google it or E-Bay it. There should be a few options out there for buying it.
As to the other question, buy it. It should be under $200 and will get you started.

there are numerous sony marine packs in ebay. i just saw a couple awhile ago.
