These photo's are from my second trip to the Channel Islands. "Coolwater" diving in a drysuit + photogear took a little getting used to, so I'm pretty happy with these shots.
The water was "cool" and so were the fish. Channel Islands (CA, USA)

Very very nice! I really like the blue striped orange goby - knockout contrast!! That dry suit doesn't seem to be slowing you down any.

Seriously, nice shots. Adult and juvenile garibaldi, blue-banded (or Catalina) goby, zoanthids, giant kelpfish... who says you need to go to the tropics to get beautiful colors (you just need to go to get warm water!).

All of the shots were from Catalina. All the Garibaldi shots and the Giant Kelpfish were from the Casino Point dive park. The Goby and zooanthids were from Ship Rock. We also saw several Giant Black Seabass at Goat Rock, but I had my 105 macro on. Doh !
Those zoanthids are known only from Catalina (Ship Rock is a great site for them). As far as I know they still haven't been described scientifically so they have no "real" name.
For a site with as much traffic as it gets, the dive park is a pretty amazing place.
