I've got a quick release installed on my Suunto Computer. I have in my kit a spare console with a standard hose terminating in a screw-in fitting. Can that hose be removed and replaced with quick release so that the console could be used without having to change out the hose if the computer crashed?

Not sure but I definitely wouldn't bother. Unscrewing one hose and screwing another in one of the simplest fixes around.
