There's plenty of resistance, as you might expect.

The real issue is critical mass. If the stickers start showing up all over dive shops on tanks and cars, and the count of petition signatures goes through the roof as a consequence, there will be little choice if the manufacturers want to maintain market share.

out of all the people on this board....I thought there would be more signatures. Less than 200. The hottest female thread got 3 times that many replies.

There was a large surge of signatures when it first went up, but the fact of the matter is that while there may be 9,000 putative members here, only a couple hundred are regulars, and once a thread gets off the first page its history to most.

This is just reality for forums like this one.

What needs to happen is that people need to start circulating this with their dive buddies, and get this OUTSIDE of the "cyberdiver" world.

That is the purpose of the stickers....

The better question is, what percentage of the dive community would support this if they knew about it?

Getting from the former to the latter is a matter of publicity and time.

It is the latter that is the important number.
