Just wondering if any one on the boards has or knows of anyone diving the site of the old " Ark Restaurant" near HWY 78 on the coosa river. It was a restaurant built on a boat in 1929 hence the name, it was also used as a place to dispense illegal liquor during the prohibition. Since the coosa river forms the boundary between St. Clair and Talladega counties the boat was able to move from bank to bank and allow the owners to avoid prosecution. The boat caught fire and the restaurant was rebuilt on the shore and moved once more to the spot where it is today. I understand that more than likely the structure of the boat isnt there if it ever was but was wondering if there were any remnants of the old restaurantor dives mad on or near this area.

Here is a pic of the Ark docked on the side of the river.
