Hi,

maybe somebody from Ikelite reads this (I emailed them separately) or one of you guys have had the same problem?

I just bought a DS 125 substrobe (second hand but quite new), and used it for two dives before it stopped working.

The strobe seemed to charge fine, then in the middle of a dive it just stopped working, no red lights came on. On land I opened it and there seems to be no leak anywhere, The test light works fine, but even though completely charged, the red ready-lights do not come on and there is no sound of the system firing up at all, completely quiet.

When I shake it around a little bit, there seems to be something lose in the strobe's head. Not the bulbs, but just inside where they are attached.

I guess the answer is to send it back to the US but I use this for work and live on a remote island in the Philippines, so any "try this yourself" tricks would be greatly appreciated.

No fix-it tricks. Please send in the strobe and battery. Ikelite will check it out and depending on the age of strobe will email you an estimate or get it repaired and updated and sent back to you.
Sorry to hear about the problem.
