Were on our way offshore and stopped in 60'.A whale was breaching 2-300 yds away and we hurried to get the cameras. It kept sticking flukes out of the water,it's tail and breached several times more coming closer.Get the 2 videos going..1 is a new HD and the other normal video.
The whale eventually breached 30' or so from the port side of the bow with me on HD and another guy on the other. It was a highlight reel day....unfortunately HD cam is new and it's owner had not loaded a card into it:dork2:,other guy is cheap and cam ran out of it's 2 gig without ever having caught an actual jump.:depressed:

Whole episode lasted 15 minutes or so as the whale approached and finally swam downcurrent. We continued offshore to 65-74 degree water and had vis from 40' to 80' which is better than the 50ish degree water and 15' vis inshore reported by guys who dove closer.

Very Cool..... we had a Wright Whale off Palm Beach a couple of weeks ago. Very rare as there are only a few hundred left in the world. Glad you were able to witness it since thay may not be around much longer.
