Scubapro has started shipping XTEK BC systems in the USA. They are offering Pure which has backplate with continuous strap and donut wing; and Form which has buckled straps and horseshoe wing. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each design?

horseshoe wings don't allow gas transfer on the bottom, doughnut wings do. Some consider doughnuts more stable, but also harder to get all of the air out of.

Quick disconnects are useful on the surface for getting out of gear, but provide an additional failure point for a gain which is marginal at best.
