Havent been to the dive park all summer. Making a last minute trip over. Anyboody dive this weekend there. How were conditions...Still havent found a good way to dive it with my boat without pissing off harbor patrol, so taking the cattle train...

I got a mooring in Hamilton Cove for the afternoon once. We swam over to the park, and exited at the stairs after a short dive. We had lunch at the little hamburger place next to the casino, then finished our dive and swam back to the boat.

I am also planning a trip over on the express to dive the park on Sunday 9-11. Hoping for good VIS and nice weather.
The casino dock cafe has some decent fish tacos and tuna melts with a pitcher of ice cold beer (after diving of course).

This time of year that is to be expected... it's Labor Day weekend and we are still in "summer mode." Later when the West Harbor (Descanso) isn't so full of boats you might have better luck. I do see people tie skiffs off to the park boundary lines on occasion and dive from there. Not sure how the harbor dept. feels about that.

Conditions have been C-R-@-P recently (although I'm trying again today). Two days ago I had 10-15 ft vis, lots of particulates, surge, good current and 55 F min temp. Yesterday the vis might have been even worse in the early afternoon, but the surge had subsided a bit and the temp was back up to 62 F on a similar dive profile.

Thanks for the updates on the dive conditions at the dive park Dr. Bill.
Hopefully condition will improve, especially the VIS. I suspect the water temp will begin dropping soon as we are approaching fall.

Probably the big swells bringing in some deep water. Bet its warm again by next weekend (cause I can't dive!).

Nice swells this afternoon and the water felt a bit cooler than last Tuesday.
Hopefully after the swell dies down this week the water temp will creep back up to maybe 68-70.

Dove the park today Conditions were much fair...little rain early.. with vis at 25 ...no surge below 30 feet... vis went to 20ft on 2nd dive and 15ft on 3rd. dive. ..I going to try Maxbottomtime and Dr. Bills idea again next weekend and see how Harbor Pator likes it... A woman had an accident mid day and didn look good.. Im going to post in Accidents and Incidents ..Again Dr. Bill nice talk with you today at the park. its always fun.
