I dived with three chicks at the same time today. Along with Merry and Margaret Webb, Mary Wicksten, Professor of Marine Biology at Texas A&M (.: Department of Biology: Mary Wicksten) joined us for a decapod dive on the crane off Haggerty's. The place was crawling with crustaceans.

Some crustaceans are much larger than others

Oh, poor hermit crab with the coral-encrusted shell! Talk about the little engine that could!

Cools shots! Especially like the first shrimp/bat star pic. Great color splashes on that shrimpy. So Merry has been pretty quiet on the post side of things. Still in the post-processing phase?

Hermit crabs frequently test new shells as they grow so if the burden of the encrustation on that one's shell gets to be too much, I'm sure it will seek out a better one.

Thanks for the Wicksten link! Graet Shots as always!!
