We were doing some preventive maintenance of my friends SS UV-26 and as one of the things we wanted to do it to blow the motor compartment to clean it from the brush dust.

But we found no obvious way of accessing the compartment except for the vacuum testing hole. There are not apparent bolts to unscrew, the see-through window seems to be "glued" and we see no apparent way of taking it off.

On a Gavin you just pop the launches and it all becomes accessible.

Does anyone know if it can be done without sending the motor to the manufacturer ?

Thanks a lot.

The cover is not glued. Remove the plug and it'll come up, it's just tight for water tightness.

Is there an o-ring underneath ? We were trying to do it gently but as we were not sure we did not want to force it.

I will let him do it, it's his scooter :)

After confirming that we managed to take it out. It does have an o-ring in the groove, it was fairly tight so it was not obvious ... Thanks everyone.
