Here's the first of our overall Chamber Day/Eve event updates (not to be confused with our Challenge-only updated which are done separately and more frequently) to let you know how we're doing on all aspects of the upcoming event.

And in case you've been out of the loop: Chamber Day 2013 is Wednesday, May 1.

Now we need to get some momentum going. This is an event that lives and dies by word-of-mouth. So hopefully YOU are talking it up to your friends, customers, club members, etc. Remember that the monies we net from this event all go to help keep our Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber on sound financial footing. Last year that total was just over $136,000, a new record. How we do this year is literally up to you.

We've got boats and the Flying Dutchman for the 25th anniversary of the Day event. The Chamber Challenge is off and running. We've made a good start on Chamber Evening. But we've still got a long ways to go and only a little over five weeks to get there.

Our Chamber is a vital safety net for the SoCal diving community. Your support keeps it strong. So get involved with one or more aspects of Chamber Day 2012. The direct link to our sign-up page is: https://www.alumniconnections.com/olc/pub/SCA/events/event_order.cgi?tmpl=events&event=2360392

Thanks for the update. Hoping this "25" goes as well as or better than any other year.
I do have a question.
I signed up on one of the Chamber day boats using the on-line link. I did receive a confirmation of payment.
The question I have is how does the boat know I am confirmed? Do I need to contact the boat as well?
Should I bring the confirmation receipt with me the morning of the event?

Thanks,

Bluesteal

All good questions. Here are equally good answers:

1. The boat does not know ahead of time but the event co-ordinators do. Our DMs will have a list of all paid divers for each boat.
2. If you sign up on-line, you will receive the instant confirmation of payment that you mentioned. You will ALSO get from us (the event) a boat ticket and info sheet that will further confirm everything. But be aware that there's a time lag between when you sign up and when we get around to processing/mailing things out (since we do the latter all by hand). Generally we'll start sending out boat tickets at the beginning of April and each week thereafter as people sign up.
3. Yes, bring the boat ticket and on-line confirmation with you. It certainly can't hurt if we screw up one of the rosters. We do our best to get everything 100% accurate but given the number of boats, the numbers of divers, AND all the stuff for the evening as well, sometimes things fall through the cracks.
4. If you have any questions, you can call us at 310/652-4990 or e-mail us directly at chamberday@aol.com .

Thanks for your support!!!!
