Can someone tell me the pros and cons of a ball arm set for the strobe vs. the flex arm set? I'm not exactly in the market for a strobe as I haven't passed the drooling stage yet, but I would appreciate knowing.

for small strobes on short arms ( up to a foot in length ) the flex arms are fine,

ball arms have more holding strength and are required for larger strobes, longer arm setups, and also quite helpfull in currents!

Ball and socket arm is better in the long run I think as it is more flexible in adding or subtracting various parts for different camera and strobe setup for macro or wide angle.
