Hi I have a Iklite housing with a Cannon G2 Digital Cammera.

I am shopping for a strobe and I keep getting different answers on what stobe I can use.

I would prefer a cordless with a fiber connection.

I have been told I can use a Sea&Sea auto strobe.
But then I am told I can not ...and must use a sync cord. Also told I have to use an Iklite strobe.

My housing does not have a sync cord connection and i dont think my cam does either.

PLEASE HELP

Any advice is greatly apprecitated

All the best
Thanks

Cannon G2 with an Ikelite housing:

Your easiest solution is to add an Ikelite DS-50 or DS-125 strobe with an manual controller (Part# 4100.6). You will then be able to use the strobe with 10-step manual. See http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/umanstrobe.html.

You can also use a Sea and Sea YS-90DX with your setup - you will need to cut the velcro patch to suit the Ike housing. See these pictures, they're photos of the patch cut to fit a PT-010 (Dee's old setup): http://www.allenhost.com/gallery/album09

Technically speaking you can also use an Inon D-2000 with your setup but the challenge will be to mount the fibre optical cable to the Ikelite housing. If you're good with DIY then you should be able to fiqure out a way. See these pics on how the fibre optical cable is mounted on to a PT-020 housing: http://www.inonamerica.com/news.html?news_id=12&pagenum=2&newscat=0

You guys are a tremendous help...

Truly appreciated
