Hi!

I'm going to be in Jacksonville from Jan 21-Feb 8 and wondered where you guys recommend diving there. Also what kind of exposure suit do you recommend for this time of year there? All advice is very much appreciated!

You can either head west to the springs, about 2-3 hours. My recommendation would be Ginnie Springs or Blue Grotto, the water is 72 degrees year-round, I personally wear a full 7mm.

Or head south to WPB, a lil more then 4 hours. Scuba Works would get my vote if you headed in that direction, I haven't been offshore in a while, but temps are probably in the low to mid 70s or colder, again, I'd use my full 7mm.

If I were you, I'd go offshore Jax or st. auggie. It's gonna be cold and I reccomend a 7mm suit or a drysuit if you have one. The offshore diving here is wild. Give Capt. Bill Newman a call, he brings divers spearfishing mostly but also accomadates photographers. Here's his website, www.seabeastoffshore.com

Thanks for some of the suggestions. I'll probably just bring my gear and figure out stuff based on how much free time I end up with. More suggestions are definitely welcome!
