ive always wanted to dive a wreck but most are do deep for my certification. Any cool wreck dive stories or wreck dives in South Florida?

BCDGirl;

There are several on the South East coast of Florida and into the upper Keys depending on where you like to dive. Try www.divespots.com . Off Deerfield Beach there is the Ancient Mariner and the Sea Emperor, in Key Largo there is the Benwood. Not much of a wreck but a ton of life on it.

Have fun.

I agree with REII above. Also, the Copenhagen of the Broward County coast is very easy and has a ton of fish.

There are many wrecks in that area that are in the range of someone with your experience. If you go to a search engine and put in the name of the community and the word scuba, and you will find dive operators in that area. Almost all of them will describe wrecks on their web sites. Deerfield Beach was mentioned above. There you will find Parrot Island Scuba and Dixie Divers, both of whom have nice descriptions of the wrecks they dive.

I am OW Cert and dove 3 last week. The Captain Dan, the Ancient Mariner, and the RSB-1. All pretty cool, and all within your limits.

The Benwood was a great dive, even though as it was said, it isnt too much of a ship anymore

Check with the West Palm Beach operators, too. The Governor's Riverwalk wrecks are fun.

Let's not forget Miami! Ocean Safari and R.J.s do the shallower wrecks on a regular basis. North Miami you should talk to Tony at the Dive Stop.

Wrecks under 60' include: Biscayne, Belcher Barge, Belzona 1 & 2, Mathew Lawrence, and of course the Wreck Trek which has 3 wrecks, radio towers, army tanks and a bunch of other stuff!

Tell Tony at Dive Stop or Robert at Ocean Safari that Renee says hello!!

The same can be said for the City of Washington wreck in the same area.

Excellent dive - not much ship left.
