Looking for a used entry level point and shoot camera rated to 30m.

Taking my son on his first scuba trip in a few months and just want to record some memories.

Any recommendations? Was looking at the invitio brand and gopro (but that is in the high end of my budget)

Thanks

i have a camera housing which is compatible with most compact camera. very handy for beginners as it has few buttons only. easy to use and fuss free. (less buttons means less chances of water leakage! :wink: ) can check out Seashell SS-1. i used it before, but upgraded as i'm bringing my diving to a new level. minor scratches on the surface, but does not affect quality of photos at all. bought at S$350. selling at S$200. can sms/ whatsapp me at 9661-0035. i can email you a list of compatible cameras :)

Hey, Im selling a Sealife Mini II for $180. Does both stills and video, easy to use. Bought it new last month for a trip to keep weight down, dont need a point and shoot now. Message me here if interested. Also item is posted in Classifieds =)

There's a new service that just started - for renting a GoPro HD - instead of buying one.

If you're not diving very often, and never locally, why bother buying at all? Or, buy a cheap Panasonic, that can go to 10m without a housing. With housing to 40m I believe.

At least with the Panny you can safely use it on the beach, where other P&S would be toast on the surf.

I still think a GoPro is the best option. You can glean pictures from the video, which will be 1920x1080 in resolution. Makes for a decent 4x6 - and you can choose the best frame.

I would combine the two, add weights to be neutral UW, and use the Sealife for video. IOW dual-setup, rather than using a GoPro + DSLR.

Makes for POV video of your shots, seeing video before & after...insert picture into video stream...upload to Youtube / vimeo.

I purchased a new DSR and want to sell my point and shoot set up.

I will take $300. Includes strobe, extra batteries, etc.

Pretty much all of these photos were taken with this set up;
