I've dug through a bunch of threads about norprene hose and quick disconnects for P-valve plumbing, all of them seeming to recommend 3/8" I.D. hose.

My newly acquired Halcyon P-valve however came with 1/4" I.D. norprene hose.

The 1/4" I.D. hose is quite set in it's shape, and I can only imagine the 3/8" being even more so.

What say ye - 1/4" or 3/8" ...?

Thanks,

Henrik

I've used the 1/4" for a few years and have never had an issue.

I've never had a back pressure problem with 1/4 ID hose. The size of the end of the condom cath is the same so it is in fact the limiting factor as having 3/8" hose downstream of a 1/4" restriction is pretty pointless.

Despite what you might like to believe, it's really just a penis not a fire hose so you are not pushing the kind of flow rate that would benefit from larger surface area anyway.

The larger inside diamter hose is larger and usually thicker so the intent is to make it more kink resistant, but I have never had an issue with a 1/4" hose kinking in the first place.

you're not? that's not what you've said before...:idk:
:blinking: love you. miss you!

now back to your regularly scheduled thread...

Whew .... I was concerned for a minute that Scubaboard had gone PC and no one had strong opinions anymore (like that's ever going to happen :D)

Thanks guys. You've pretty much convinced me to stick with 1/4" I.D. to match the Halcyon valve.
