My son wanted to try a BP/W so we headed to the BHB bridge this Sunday. He said he hated the thing, but he was a little underweighted and I didn't give him a crotch strap and he complained it was riding up. I though it looked OK on him; we will have to give it another try. Apparently he still needs practice with ditch and don of his scuba unit.:rofl3:

We found clear water, but it was cold, maybe 73 and we saw lots of sea creatures and two different instructional sessions going on... they looked pretty different.. :shakehead:

73F is cold?
I think so. I like 85 and up. Skin time. Below 85 I go to a 1 mil. Below 80 I'm in a 3/2. Approaching the mid and low 70's I'm layering up.

anything below 65F for me i am in a 7mm. above 65f im in 5/4mm

I have been at 60f in 5/4 though, was pretty chilly

:D Even the manatee seemed to have some buoyancy control issues - and a remora. Somehow found that strange.

Very Nice! I have not seen any manatee lately. Thanks

thnx for posting

Awesome video!!!

I STILL have never dived the BHB! I need to ASAP!

Also, did Breakers and Nun (??? is that right) reef on Saturday afternoon and it was 65 degrees at depth at Nun. Misposted yesterday that it was that cold at Breakers, but was wrong. It was 71 at Breakers at depth. I was in a 5 mil with a 3/5 hooded vest undernear, with a rashgaurd underneath and FROZE my overies off!

Saw a really big nurse shark, a hawk's bill and loggerhead and two huge scorpions at Breakers. At Nuns called the dive 27 minutes in b/c I was toooo cold!

There is probably a lot to be said for class size. I know the first instructor, but did not recognize the second.

In the 70's when we did our doff and done, we did then in the deep end of the North Palm Country Club pool. Doff, surface, dive and donn. Of course they were just simple back packs with 1 piece harness, no bc's and just a first and second stage. (might have had a see view gauge in the class, but I don't think so.).

What brand of free diving fins are we seeing in the video?

Edit. I just reread your op. I thought that might be you doing the doff and donn. Boy he has grown. For what it is worth I have 3 plates and two wings. One plate and harness I set up for my daughter. She hates the crotchstrap and much prefers Her sp Bella.

two words for y'all - Dry Suit! Our water never gets much above 70, so unless we are doing a single dive, we are tosty warm all day in our DUI's! Went diving two weekends ago - 25 air, 36 surface and 42 at 120ft but all was toasty with a thin woolie and a 350gm fleece under the suit (a FLX 50/50).
