Hi, to some this may seem like a silly/strange question but:

I am looking for the gear Lara Croft wore in "Cradle of Life", you've all seen it

I know her suit was made by Mares:
http://www.mares.com/NS_NewsView.asp?news=43

And you can buy a replica of the suit at:

..but what of the BC? Any advice would be great. I am looking for a sleek minimalist BC like Lara's. The straps around the legs are nice too. Thanks in advance,

Here you go. Sleek. About as minimalist as can possibly exist while still retaining functionality. Single tank BC. And minimalism means only one crotchstrap instead of two like Lara, but I think you'll manage with just one okay. Hell, its even DIR! Ask and ye shall receive! :D

(Lose the funky little speargun pistol. Accessorizing is cool, but spearguns strapped to your thigh will make the other divers on the boat seriously nervous... :11: (Plus they're an entanglement hazard!) You could substitute a huge frickin' knife though, on your right waistband - use it to hold your long hose in place! Whose gonna complain?! :) )

It's so you! (Post photos after you get your ensemble together!)

well, functionality would be my main goal...
You should be able to do some creative straping of a basic backplate to get that look (of course the 2mm of the suit would imply you wouldn't be making a scene in BC waters). You could substitute a dive knife for that weapon of mass destruction. You would probably also want a retro-style oval mask to complete the look. It seems doable.

Totally does seem doable! Thanks for the link Doc, that BC looks gorgeous!! xxoo

As far as the 2mm, yes, it definitly would *not* suffice a dive here.. I just got back from some lake diving and I was wearing 5mm vest + 7mm one piece and was fine. The wetsuit wouldn't have to be from the fetish site :snicker: but could probably be custom made from some place like http://www.nemowetsuit.com/color_chart.php - i see they have a 5mm titanium silver neoprene. yes, that zipper down there makes me a little nervous, probably would let cold water in!
:) i agree re: silly little pistol. i would definitly have a knife there on the side.
or a flashlight.. now if i could only figure out her boots (obviously not neoprene, strange) http://adorocinema.cidadeinternet.com.br/filmes/tomb-raider-2/tomb-raider-2-poster03.jpg

Just FYI, the "silly little pistol" is an H&K P11. Basically a five shot fixed-barrel Gyrojet.

ooh yes, that's what she's using in Alexander the Great's vault, but it's not what's hanging off her hip in the poster. http://www.esato.com/archive/t.php/t-23748,s-100

i'm new to DIR: can you compare the halcyon eclipse model to something such as this?
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16053&item=7158186764&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

the lift is smaller than the eclipse, that i noticed, and the quality of the halycon far exceeds this ebay find.. anything else?

I thought she stole her wetsuit from a closet on board the Calypso.
