Hi,

I'm looking for recommendations for a dive boat on the Big Island during xmas week this year. I'm a pretty experienced diver (450+ dives) and a photographer. Ideally would like a smaller boat that caters to more experienced divers.

FWIW I've dove Jack's and Sandwich Isle. I did the manta dive with Jack's - well run but too cattle boaty for my taste. Sandwich Isle was great, my only complaint was their boat didn't have a head.

Of the other operators are there any that might fit the bill? Another question - is Jack's the only boat that does the pelagic night dive? I really want to do that this time around. And, do the dive boats there typically run on xmas eve/day?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

Sandwich Isle would have been my recommendation. Great operator.

Aloha Jeff. If you are interested in small groups...we only take 6 divers on our Pelagic Magic dive. (I think once in a blue moon we've taken 7.) There are other operators that offer a black water dive. The name Pelagic Magic is exclusive to Jack's. Sounds like you've got a fun Christmas trip planned. Have an awesome time!

Check out Neptune Charlie's for the pelagic dive as they have just added that dive. Great guys. You also would do well to look at Kona Diving Company. They are a great op.
