Hi! With only 2 weeks left before we leave for Bermuda I thought it was a good time to join the ScubaBoard to look up options, find out a good shop to finalize my open dive PADI certification and simply get some good suggestions for the area.

I've wanted to dive for years and last year got a gift certificate from my boyfriend to get my diving certificate. He and his family have had their certificate for years and now I can go and play with them. My 1st experience, in the pool, went well but now i'm looking forward to seeing the beauty of the ocean.

If anyone has some good suggestions or ideas for diving in Bermuda, it would be great to hear from you.

Kirsten

Welcome to ScubaBoard and the amazing underwater world.
Here's a link to the regional forum for Bermuda. You can read posts on the area and post questions also.
I hope this helps.

Have fun on your trip!

You should be contacting the shops that are on the island now.

When I was in Bermuda I was told that some of the shops close for a period during the winter months when the water temps can be in the low 60's.

I dove in bermuda last January. I dove with Dive Bermuda at the Fairmont South Hampton. They have a nice clean boat and a really good crew with lots of experience. Only time I've pulled out my ice diving card and an instructor working in a warm climate pulled out his to match.

Bermuda had great diving being a wealthier Island I don't think they have polluted the water nearly as much as some of the islands in the Caribbean. It was a little colder then some people are used to but I was quite comfortable in the gear they gave me.

Good Luck and Have Fun.
