Howdy - And welcome to SB! Good place to chat & study when we can't be diving.

Winter Vacations have become so popular in the US, when school kids are out and all, that travel expenses sky rocket. I thought about Cozumel or PDC, but learned that many costs double during the period. Dec 26 to Jan 2 is a dead week for me, though - totally a waste if I hang around work.

So, I booked a Blackbeards Cruise. It's kinda' like camping at sea, I've read - private bunks and such, but cheap dive & travel, with NYE on Bimini with the 3 boats & passengers all getting together to party. Last I heard, they were booked, but a waiting list might help. Deposits are refundable until October, so some will cancel when it's time for the rest of the money. Last I heard, they had more gals than guys; hope that doesn't fail! :eyebrow:

I'm flying in the night before, as I always suggest for any boat. One gal here on SB is arriving 2 days early, but another gal is coming in that morning. Hope she doesn't get delayed by winter storms.

Hope that's some help? don :zorros:

Welcome to SCUBA Board! I recently enjoyed diving the Mayan Riviara in Mexico. Depending on where you go the prices are reasonable, the options diverse, and crowds few.

:wavey: Hey there Ben962, welcome to Scuba Board! Take care from Matt.

Hello Ben962 and welcome to Scubaboard! I've only really made one "dive trip" and it was to Riviera Maya and Cozumel. I'd recommend it as long as you could get decent prices. You may want to go over to the Scuba Diving Vacation and Destinations Forum<<click here and look around. Be careful, there's a ton of info and it could be sensory overload. Maybe you could narrow down your options first.

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

Just keep looking around the board and you'll find all sorts of things to do, I'm sure! I don't think it's ever too late to plan something fun! :crafty:

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.
