You are very close to the wreck of the North Wind. There is a boat doing it every weekend in September leaving from Little Current. We are going in a few weeks - it's usually not the easiest site to access so you should take advantage of it this month if you can.

There is also a dive shop in Sudbury that may have info on more local sites.

Think about joining the local dive club Sudbury Dolphins Aquatic Club http://www.sdac.net follow the Facebook page for more current info since the website isn't always up to date.
Club dives are organized fairly regularly and you can meet some new dive buddies. I just certified with the club in May so I'm still doing the easy dives and working on improving my skills 😃

That is the plan. I am already on their Facebook site.

@swunner_spe

What did you end up diving up north this summer?

I am curious about many lakes up there, especially Lake Wanapitei as it is an impact crater type of lake. Apparently legend has it the lake is bottomless, but the scientific reason for this is that when instruments used to measure lake depth have had difficulties as there is a magnetic anomaly at the bottom. Would be really cool to go dive for meteorite pieces.

Jacques Cousteau himself was interested in researching this lake but for whatever reason never did.

Sadly, I did not dive since moving. I hope to dive in a few weeks, once the ice is thick enough.
