I have that housing and like it. If you get the ike housing, plan on using a sync cord for your strobe, and not one of the 'remote' sensor flash units.
The only issue I have had, it the wheel that turns the control knob sometimes doesn't line up correctly... you have to make sure the camera is in the correct position when you tighten the mounting screw (into the tripod mount)... just mount the camera, close the housing and make sure it rotates freely... if not, open and reposition the camera... there's about 1/8 - 1/4" inch of play to work with.
The reason I recommend the sync cord method for the strobe is the way this camera uses TTL flash... the flash sensor is very close to the deflector built into the housing and mine was partially covered by the deflector, resulting in underexposure. Since the nikon 995 does NOT use preflash, I switched to a regular strobe (ike SS200), and removed the deflector from the housing (it's mounted with 2 sided tape)... problem solved.
Other things I've ran into: the camera flash has to be up if you are using a strobe... this allows the ttl sensor to be exposed... but you have to remember to turn off the internal flash (it's in the main menu, 2nd page...flash options or something like that. The correct choice is "internal flash off" = ON
makes sense if you think about it, but could have been worded better.
I've shot most everything is aperature priority mode... white balance set to flash, or whatever it's called. The macro on this camera is great... set it to macro mode ... but beware this will increase focus speed for non-macro shots. I've used f10 for anything closer than 1ft... f4 or 5, or so, for 3ft+.
All the pics on my website were shot with the 995, ike housing, and ike strobe. My first trip with it was this past march. I'm very happy with the setup.
one other thing: if you are not planning on using an external strobe... the internal flash can't be used according to the manual... I never tried it, though.
