Hi everybody. I got a problem. I got my Dacor Equanox computer from storage and discover that, somehow battery compartment cover become lost. I called Dacor customer service, but they told me that I have to by a new computer, cause they don't have parts for Equanox. I exosted all other resorses, this is the last one. Please help me.

that unit is from 1999 or so. If I remember when I started as a rep for Mares/Dacor in 2002 (Now I'm with Oceanic) there was a couple pallets of new units sitting in the warehouse because the company that made them went out of business, thus no support and they didn't want to sell them.

I think you are out of luck.

I have a sample Dacor Darwin (air/nitrox) wrist left from when I repped for them, little use that I'd part with cheap.....

Hey Chris. I have 19 broken Darwins that I will part with. Real Cheap!

Just a thought, but have you phoned Mares about it? Mares owns Dacor and the way it looks, they're slowly removing Dacor from teh market. They probably won't have the part for you but if you point out that it's their responsibility that parts that *should* be available aren't then they may be willing to offer you a good trade in on a Mares computer.

he called Dacor cust svc, same as calling Mares cust. svc.

you can escalate I'm sure. However nobody there is doing anything "wrong". When Mares first aquired Dacor they pulled the making of Dacor computers away from Pelagic and used a comapny that went out of business. Mares/Dacor can't get parts for it, heck they can't do parts for most pre 2000 Dacor products which is why the have an upgrade program on regulators.

He could also trade it in on a Oceanic computer and save an additional 20% on our trade in program!

OK. So, how much I'm looking at?

Now we're talking. Oceanic products are good and their customer service is top-notch. A few years ago I had a Genesis computer that was manufactured at the same plant that makes Oceanic computers. The computer died during a dive and I called Genesis to see what my options were. They didn't seem to even recognise which computer I was talking about and seemed to have no idea what to say to me. On a whim I called Oceanic to see if they could help me and they not only knew which computer I was talking about but they were able to help me.....and it wasn't even their computer! LOL

So Cerich, do the right thing. Take Larry (scubatoys) lead and give the guy a good deal. The good name is worth gold.
