Hi Kim,

I'm thinking it is probably "small change" to him. I'm not so sure he isn't bumping up the price himself just to keep things interesting. Nice to have the dough!

I took a moment to imagine spending $850K+ on a sheet of paper. I could not come up with ANY document that I wouldn't have a serious case of "buyer's remorse" the next day.:11doh::11doh::11doh::11doh:
LOL.

Still - charity is charity and it'll help some people, even if it's political gimmickery at the same time. I'm sure those who get helped won't mind.

Kudos.

We finally agree on something:biggrinba

No the "people" will not mind. Of course this all is a sham, just like the draft dodging, pill popping, 3 times divorced "rushbo" Hope the money actually goes to the Marine and Law enforcement folks who deserve our help and support.

On the surface, because I don't want to look further.

I am not a Fan, don't care for his reports , can't stand the sound of his voice and generally don't care what he thinks. If what he is doing is upfront and for real, then absolutely more power to him...

My 2psi...

Update= $851,000 Go Rush Go

mdb, he's raised millions for this charity over the years & in fact sits on its board. I really don't think you have anything to fear in regards to where the money will go & if I may say so, it strikes me as small of you to have said that.

I heard what was said, when it was said. There was no "mistake" made & he did not slur any real soldiers. It was quite clear what type of person he was referring to. I am a vet, looking at it from that POV.

I'll give props to Rush if he donates this much money to a charity, but there is no reasonable interpretation of what he said that matches your statement, Wayward. I'm sorry, but his words are his words. He called the troops that get in front of the media to criticize the policies "phony soldiers". He was not referring to anyone else. Further, if he wasn't referring to critics, the caller was and Rush should have told him not to slur them.

I've posted a link to Rush's exact words and the complete context. If you have some other evidence, feel free to provide it. Rush slurred the troops, and he should apologize, regardless of any charity donations.

CALLER 2: Hi Rush, thanks for taking my call.

LIMBAUGH: You bet.

CALLER 2: I have a retort to Mike in Chicago, because I am a serving American military, in the Army. I've been serving for 14 years, very proudly.

LIMBAUGH: Thank you, sir.

CALLER 2: And, you know, I'm one of the few that joined the Army to serve my country, I'm proud to say, not for the money or anything like that. What I would like to retort to is that, if we pull -- what these people don't understand is if we pull out of Iraq right now, which is about impossible because of all the stuff that's over there, it'd take us at least a year to pull everything back out of Iraq, then Iraq itself would collapse, and we'd have to go right back over there within a year or so. And --

LIMBAUGH: There's a lot more than that that they don't understand. They can't even -- if -- the next guy that calls here, I'm gonna ask him: Why should we pull -- what is the imperative for pulling out? What's in it for the United States to pull out? They can't -- I don't think they have an answer for that other than, "Well, we just gotta bring the troops home."

CALLER 2: Yeah, and, you know what --

LIMBAUGH: "Save the -- keep the troops safe" or whatever. I -- it's not possible, intellectually, to follow these people.

CALLER 2: No, it's not, and what's really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media.

LIMBAUGH: The phony soldiers.

CALLER 2: The phony soldiers. If you talk to a real soldier, they are proud to serve. They want to be over in Iraq. They understand their sacrifice, and they're willing to sacrifice for their country.

LIMBAUGH: They joined to be in Iraq. They joined --

CALLER 2: A lot of them -- the new kids, yeah.

LIMBAUGH: Well, you know where you're going these days, the last four years, if you signed up. The odds are you're going there or Afghanistan or somewhere.

CALLER 2: Exactly, sir.

Trig, :rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

Jealousy of Rush runs deep....the numbers speak for themselves.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for turning an absurd Senate smear into college educations for children of fallen soldiers and police.

Thank you Rush Limbaugh
