Do you find that oranges substitute well for apples?

Here are some apples/apples comparison for you:
Its illegal to take black coral off a reef and hence I take pictures of it instead.
Nassau grouper is out of season so I take a picture instead of shooting it.

And since you have a hangup with nude women:
Prostitution is illegal so I go to a strip club instead.

Is this starting to sink in or do I need to draw you a diagram?

No.

That whoosh sound is the point going over your head.

I am new to reading what CDNN has to print, but am a bit shocked that they would print something like this without factual data to back it up. CDNN appears to thrive off of sensationalism rather than ocean-based journalism.

Boycott CDNN.

Pretty much. Anything that smears any dive org or operator gets posted there. Its not just biased stories either. Its misinformation in some cases. They use the death of a diver on a shark dive where the guy died to natural causes before the encounter began in their shark feeding timeline.

On the other hand, they make fun of crackpot Erich Ritter who can regulate his blood pressure in such a way that sharks won't bite him (except the one that tore his calf off). So in addition to smearing everyone in the dive industry, they occasionally smear some weirdo who Discovery Channel treats as reputable but ultimately gives divers/diving a black eye. So their kharma isn't completely bad.

If you're going to correct someone you think is being a smartass, try to understand what they mean and say so you won't look like a big dummie when they tell you that they were making fun of people who plunder artifacts when it is legally dubious to do so.

well, in case you didn't pick up on it, I was making fun of your ignorance.

In your situation, it was not. Here's your sign.

and what does this mean?

And what happened to the Bell?

Layne

It was reported to the ROW, conserved, and is being restored. I believe there may be an article in WDM in the near future. Pics of the bell can be seen here:
AUE MAIN - JUNE 2007

Boycott CDNN.

As I see it the chain of events are Trident admit on the internet they with RK took things from the wrecks. R. Rondeau complains about it and CDNN report that RR is accusing RK of looting.

Why not just condemn Trident divers they are the ones that publicly state that they helped RK take things from the wrecks, maybe they are telling fibs, it seems everyone else is

If you had asked me if I was aware that there are pieces of a boat which may give away its identity but may be encrusted in such a way that it cannot be identified without bringing it topside, I would have told you yes.

Analyze the word assume.

The reasons to boycott CDNN go far beyond this particular article. Mike posted a fine link to a few other examples of their nefarious behaviour.

CDNN blatantly plagiarizes articles and posts them as their own, steal photos without credit or compensation to the rights holders, and operate under total anonymity so that they can't be held accountable for any mis-truths or libelous articles they publish.

CDNN. Just say no.
