drbill...give a description of the idiot instructor, so perhaps someone present at the park will be able to identify the instructor. All we know from your post is that it was a male. thanks
Hey Carlos, you didn't happen to be at Catalina right about that time, did you? :)

Must admit I couldn't really tell WHICH idiot was the instructor... they were all in neoprene.

By the way... I did two dives at the park today with vis as high as 70 ft. I got so lost at one point due to the incredible visibility tat I thought I was way outside the park and had to surface to discover I was in an area I've dived at least a thousand times but didn't recognize due to the crystal clear water!

By the way, on the topic of courtesy at Casino Point, has any one ever addressed the strong stench of urine that seems ingrained in the asphalt in the gear up areas? Smelled worse than a N.Y. Subway! Is it really that much trouble to walk the 200 feet to the loo? Perhaps this problem has improved since I last dived the park in 2008.... hope so!

Divers pee in their wetsuits. Then they get out of their wetsuits, in the "gear up area".

Any questions?

Just a thought but, wouldn't it be nice if there were showers at the "dive park" ?

you shoot them in the face with a shotgun too?

I wouldn't even own a gun but, some things are just so dang irritating…..
Back when I had to do something called Speed Control every 6 weeks or so…
Theory was; to encourage some common courtesy where multiple ski runs fed into a beginner runs, the local law enforcement stood at an enormous red SLOW sign (like any of us thought it would be of any use.)

After something like 3 hours spread over the day at one sign or another I'd come down muttering, "Good thing they don't give us guns."

Water is a precious commodity out here on the island, although there are plans to build showers. The owner of the property used to wash it down (with salt water I hope) on a regular basis but I haven't seen them do that lately. Time and labor consuming.

Perhaps if everyone paid a $10 annual fee to dive here, the cost of the labor could be covered by those of us who use the place???
