I'm reviewing a friend's draft article in which he makes a statement about weight belts vs. integrated weights. I'm curious about the prevalence of each.

Well, I am old school :D so I still use a belt.

For me, well, I just grew up with a belt and weights, and I stopped learning new tricks 10 years ago.!

Integrated works well for me. Also have trim pockect on my tank.

I find weight integrated really comfortable. I only carry weight on a belt if I am with students or divers I may be guiding that I don't know in case someone is under weighted, especially on the fist open water dive.

When diving a twinset I wear a belt and fasten one 2kg. piece of lead on each bottle.
Belt only on a BCD.

Dove a belt for many years, but need so little weight to get down, opted to try integrated. Works for me, though every diver is different.

DUI harness

None of your options works for me. I wear a weight belt, and also trim weights in camband weight pouches.
