Although I like the "Like" button, I think the "Thanks" button serves a different purpose, conveys something different, a different sentiment. Neither button can replace the other, really. Please bring back the "Thanks" button (and keep the "Like" button).

Thanks,

Ronald

Wish I could wish you luck, Ronald, but it looks like you will be disappointed. May I suggest instead:

What's a "thanks" button? :idk:

Tanked,

Up until a couple of weeks ago, a fourth button, a "Thanks" button, existed on the bottom right-hand corner of SB forum posts I read (next to the "Quote" button, "Quick Reply" button, etc.). I used this button to convey "Thanks for posting this." If someone posted details about the discovered cause of a scuba accident or near-accident, for example, I might reply with the "Thanks" button. The "Like" button would be entirely inappropriate in this case, I would think.

Safe Diving,

Ronald

Really?
Guess I just never looked close enough.
Thanks!

I too liked the Thanks button. Useful tool, creative plaything. I miss it too.

I had it less than gently explained that it simply is not possible to have that feature in the new system SB is migrating to. Part of the on going "upgrades".

Oh well, things change. Life goes on, and we adapt.

I am sure we can find very creative uses for the Like button, and even some new "tools" we can use. SB has made more than a few changes in the 6 years or so I have been spending extended SI here.

Okay, thanks, Gypsyjim. (Hmm, a "Thanks" button would have been perfect for this response, probably.)
