and drop this notion that you somehow have the right to tell people where their posts belong ... you don't.

Please quote me, other than that one thread that I have not really been bringing up over and over like you, where I have told people where there posts belong? :mooner:

How many times are you going to make these kinds of misrepresentations of me? :shakehead:

You continually, as in over and over, claim that I am doing, or have done, things that are far from the truth!

I think the fact that you, and others, keep claiming untruths about me as part of your attacks on me is strong evidence to the fact that I have hit upon more than one ugly truth about ScubaBoard. :shocked2:

Diving is fun for the vast majority.

Diving is easy for the vast majority.

Diving is not really very dangerous for the vast majority.

Fun, easy and not dangerous is not what the most prolific posters on ScubaBoard WANT to talk about. :eyebrow:

If this isn't a (mis)statement of fact, I don't know what is. Can you provide the supporting evidence? Of course not.

Isn't this the sort of thing you've been yammering about? Is this a situation where you hate most in others what you despise most in yourself? Whatever, but imv, I'm pretty sure it's not a solid sign of mental/emotional balance.:idk:

If you should succeed in your Jihad, what do you suppose it will accomplish?

It could be worse, I had a symmetry fetish once. I still relapse, but at least I recognize that fact.

But you said it ... you even admit you said it ... so how is it a misrepresentation?

If we follow the forum format of ScubaBoard, isn't the discussion you are starting more appropriate in the Technical Diving forum? If a PADI Master Diver is the middle of the target range for the Advanced Scuba Discussions forum I still think this thread would be in the wrong forum.

Either the general section of the Technical Diving Specialties or your local Sub Forum; you do have a local sub forum, don't you?

Do tell ...

Diving is fun for the vast majority.
I agree ...

I disagree ... I think that's what most of us like to talk about. We just have different perspectives than you do. Isn't that what this board is supposed to be about?

I happen to think that some of what you promote is based on a very myopic perspective of scuba diving. Some borders on irresponsible ... if not crossing the border ... and a great deal is outright misrepresentation that I can only believe is based on some inherent insecurity about your own diving ability.

Otherwise, why should you CARE about what someone else posts? What makes your views any more valid than mine ... or anyone else's? What gives you the RIGHT to go off telling someone else where she should post ... or even to object to someone trying to be helpful to other divers?

You bait, insult, name-call ... and come off as generally pompous and condescending to anybody who disagrees with you ... and then act all aggrieved when people respond in kind. How old are you?

Truly, I don't understand where you're coming from ... or where you're trying to go to. But go ahead ... I'm sure everyone's waiting with baited breath for the next installment of Halemano's "Warped View" series ... I'm sure I'll enjoy it ...

If you should succeed in your Jihad, what do you suppose it will accomplish?

Doesn't this remind you of another former poster who used to start threads about the inadequacy of modern scuba training about once a week?

What did that accomplish?

This'll accomplish about the same thing ...

Not so much. W was more like those spinning, bouncing fireworks that make vrrrrttttt sounds. IMO, H is more like.... a mosquito that will not die.
What did that accomplish?
I think it fed an ego, caused some drama and got some folks worked up for a while, if that's an accomplishment.. I didn't watch that play out in all its glory, but I think I got the gist of it.
This'll accomplish about the same thing ...

Seriously?

halemanō;4934405:
hey i was wundering why you don't start your own thread in the hunting forum?

edit - just saw this was your first post; welcome to Scuba Board!

From the main forum index page, scroll way down and you will find activity specific or gear specific forums; that is where your above post belongs.

Happy posting :)

I would like to point out this is the Basic Scuba forum not the Beginning Diver forum. The thread this thread is split off from concerned a teenager yes, but also a diver of many years. He is over 17 years old and could easily take and pass Rescue and DM in 2 weeks this summer at a number of locations here in the USA.

He paid for his current dive gear by scrapping hull bottoms and has made the decision not to pursue DM at this time because education / athletics are more important to him. We have already talked about how analog gauges, a dive watch and tables is a back-up for a computer malfunction for the many boat dives he has made with rental computers.

Many of the posts here seem more appropriate for the Beginning Divers forum.

halemanō;4906295:
To be perfectly honest, there are only a handful of non BP/W divers who visit this forum regularly, so the fact that none of the 5 of us has used the Zuma is not surprising.

I think it is pretty amazing Hallmac is in this thread with the offer he's made. To get comments from regular Zuma users you may need to post in Basic Scuba.

Why is this in the new divers / those considering diving forum?

halemanō;5660329:
If we just say that to be basic scuba at least 50% of the divers in the world would have tried it; what percentage of world wide divers have tried BP/W, dry suits, argon, all of the above and more on the same dive?

If we follow the forum format of ScubaBoard, isn't the discussion you are starting more appropriate in the Technical Diving forum? If a PADI Master Diver is the middle of the target range for the Advanced Scuba Discussions forum I still think this thread would be in the wrong forum.

Truly, I don't understand where you're coming from ...

As usual for you lately, you do make things easy for me. :D

I was too lazy to go all in on this one, but you have helped me point out exactly what I have been pointing out about you misrepresenting what I say!

Look closely at the interchange between us, in the <snip> quotes above (I added one sentence of mine);

You claim that I have a "notion that I somehow have the right to tell people where their posts belong."

I challenged you to quote me "where I have told people where there posts belong"

And then to prove your false accusation, you quote a bunch of QUESTIONS I asked and one statement of opinion ("I still think").

You asked; "so how is it a misrepresentation?"

You falsely accused me of telling people where their posts belong when in fact all I did was ask questions and express my opinion!

This year you have made similar false accusations, over and over and over! Why can't you make points without making false accusations?

:shakehead:

"Truly, I don't understand where you're coming from"

Perhaps that's because you are not really reading my statements ever since I used the term "fringe" and now you just "see" what you want to "see" rather than what is actually there. :idk:

You bait, insult, name-call ... and come off as generally pompous and condescending to anybody who disagrees with you ... and then act all aggrieved when people respond in kind. How old are you?

In all the Warped View of the Dive World threads, there are many, many posts where people have disagreed with me while following the topic of the thread and I have at least "liked" the post. (still may have some "likes" to give)

There are posts that are pretty much misrepresentations, false accusation and direct attacks on me, and not on the thread topics whatsoever; I have defended myself from those misrepresentations, false accusations and direct attacks.

Please quote me where I have insulted you, or called you a name! :idk:
