Tenkiller is the name of the lake. It's located in eastern Oklahoma, just north of I-40. The dive park is at the southern end of the lake, near the dam. Viz can be anywhere from zero to over 20 foot at the right times. Deepest part of the lake is about 130 foot. There are a lot of dive sites that require a boat, but most people dive at the park or at Crappie (prnounced Krop E) Point around the corner from the park.

Is it in Vian, OK?

close, You would be better taking the Gore exit. The highway that passes through Gore, runs right to the lake.

Hum...it says it's 6 hours from me. That's a little far.

Isn't there a Lake in Joplin, MO that has some things sunk in it like this Lake sounds like it does?

yes ORONOGO but its more like a quarry than lake. it is a very fun place to go and dive.

my wife has been to ten killer and she has told me that viz was ok not the greatest but ok.

As far as Oronogo once you get away from the bank and entry point viz was over 20ft.
Now the only problem was you can hit over 80 ft deep and it gets a little chilly so you need a drysuit or a 7mm.

My advice is when you get their, One pack a good light and Two spend time in the Chimney and air cave you will love it!

Hey Jeni,
My daughter and I have been planning wanting to dive Oronogo as well... we're about 1.5 hours south so let me know if you need dive buddies.

Cheers!
Steve
