Hi all,
I shot with satisfaction till now in TTL, with an Olympus E-520 and a strobe INON Z-240 type 3, connected by a Heinrichs Weikamp Oly TTL converter.
Now I have a second strobe, an INON D-2000 type 4, and I'm trying to shoot with dual strobe in s-TTL. To connect strobes and housing, I use two original INON Optical D cable.

After many test in macro, I'm very disappointed, because my pictures are always under exposed.
I changed configurations and strobes position, but the result remains the same, too dark.

Anybody can suggest me the right configuration of camera and both strobes.
Thank you very much.

Hi Bonco,
the only solution is to use both the strobes in Manual mode, setting the power of each strobe according with the aperture of the digital camera.
If you shot macro pictures, you have time to set the power of the strobes and the aperture of the digital camera.
I have the same problem with my E520 and two Inon D2000 connected with fiber optic cable.
When I shot macro, I use the strobes in Manual mode.
When I shot other kind of moving subject, I use S-TTL mode, because there is not enough time.

Hi,
you're telling me that s-TTL doesn't work !

If you are talking about an Olympus PT-E05 housing why the Heinrichs TTL converter. Why not use the fiber optic cables attached to the housing optical ports and the pop-up flash on the camera to fire both strobes in S-TTL? Works great with on or more strobes and you can mix or match.

Hi Phil,
that's what I'd like to do, but as I wrote I always take under exposed pictures, so I asked for a suggestion about the right configuration of camera and both strobes, because probably I made some mistake.

Same for me as Phil.

I had an issue with my set up when I moved from manual to TTL (Inon Z240-3 & SnS 110a) until I realised that I had used the internal flash at 1/64th (to save battery) and the TTL wasn't working. I set it back to normal and it works fine. I think the control messages are not sent and that 1/64th must be a manual setting.

I have checked it in macro and up to 2m and it works well.

I believe Inon worked on development with Olympus and the systems work well together. You certainly do not need the HW converter as Phil said. Sell it and offset some of your costs.

Set the camera to manual mode, put the shutter speed at 1/160th at F-8 or F11 using ISO 100 or 200. Turn the strobes to S-TTL, make sure the magnets are where they should be and put the control dail at F/2.8.

Shoot a sofa pillow or other object from about two feet and you should get an exposure that is in the ball park.

Phil got my Z240 if front of me and have no idea about any magnets? What or where are they?

I am assuming this discussion is to do with the ACC switch? I have just got this information regarding this.

The ACC switch is up for TTL and in and locked for manual internal flash setting ie 1/64th.

The easiest way to tell whether the ACC switch is in the right position for your camera is to take a picture of yourself in a mirror. If you can see the strobe firing in the picture the ACC switch is in the right position. If the strobe fires and you can't see the strobe firing in your picture you got it wrong.
