That's probably because there isn't any scientific evidence for the physiological advantage

If it works for you, more power

Is what you are saying diving EAN and staying underwater to the limits of NDL for EAN has the same risk factor as if I stayed to the Air (21% O2) NDL limits?? Same things for shorter SI vs. normal air SI's???

He's saying (I'm guessing) there is no scientific data which objectively show a DCS safety margin is afforded by diving well within NDL as opposed to near or at NDL.

It nay be that it's never been studied or that the cases of DCS are sufficiently rare as to make it an impossible variable to isolate.

Personally, I'm comfortable with the conclusion even in the absence of proof, just like I'm comfortable with the complimentary conclusion that diving air to EAN limits is less safe than diving air to air limits.

You're confusing partial pressure with percentage; the PP changes, the percentage does not

Partial pressure could be easily redefined as percentage of gas relative to sea level.

Anyway, did 28 dives in 6 days with 30-31% EAN the last trip. Felt groggy and thick headed the whole time. I thought I was going to be permanently dunced until a few days after returning back.

No

What I'm saying is that there isn't any 'scientific' (ie non anecdotal) evidence to support the theory that people feel better diving EAN as compared ti diving air

Then I misread your posts.

I took him to mean that he dives EAN on air tables to provide a safety margin, and I took you to dispute that doing so does provide said safety margin. My bad - that's a common theme on here. I'll shut up now.

My feeling "less tired" after diving has more to do with me getting a good night sleep and drinking water before/after diving than with using EAN. I still need my "nap" after a dive especially after diving in colder waters even when using EAN (a good hot meal after diving doesn't hurt either).

Well yeah... but the percentage is a constant
