I have a beautiful set of Doubles, Worthingtons 119cf, ( X8) HP Steel Tanks

The DOB is: 09/06
They were Just Hydro'd for the first time in April 2011 & VIP'd
They are o2 Cleaned. The exterior was cleaned & sprayed with Epoxy
They are like Brand New tanks!

They are set up with Dive Rite Manifold & bands
and have the DIN w/ Yoke insert valves
They are currently empty (just a bit of 32% nitrox)

But you can get them all day long for 400-500 just not freshly painted but that too is not a good thing as it hides issues and traps salt under the finish which corrodes the tanks. Thats why PST and Worthington are not painted.

Yeah well that's the key word "Just not painted" for $400 to $500 you get some old rat's ass tanks full for sticker & salt residue... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Oh yeah, that's (old beat up rat's ass tanks) is supposed to show character, and that you're an experienced diver....


You don't have a clue what you're talking about... these tanks have a perfect galvanized finish... I'm not hiding anything... I used the best (& most expensive ) epoxy primer on these tanks. they are protected even more so with the paint.... and they actually look nice!

Worthington & PST are not painted because it cuts down on production costs....

I just purchased 2, 2 year old, "like New" PL95's for $300.00 for the pair
And tonight just bought 2 "09" "like new" Faber HP 117's with brand new DR Manifold and Highland bands for $450.00

I do note that yours are 06 vintage and have already been hydro'd once.


No...hot dipped galvanized tanks without an outer coating(painted) not only cost the manufactures more to do but provide a more resistant finish as salt and moisture can not get between the coating and the tank surface where it will corrode the tanks plus HDG tanks shed salt and water and dry better and allow for better rinsing and cleaning. This is why PST and Worthington are HDG and not painted and why painted tanks are not considered a better surface for steel tanks.
