You can but it'll be cold. I hope you'd be diving a drysuit. I don't know about shops in the trenton area, but i'm almost positive some shops in the shore area do still go out on the few boats that may still be running. Best bet is call them. I'm typically done diving come Oct/Nov

You mightbe able to stand the water temps with the semi-dry, for a few minutes anyway. But when you get out of the water and get confronted with 20 degree F temps you'll be wishing you chose not to dive.

What about shore dives, with drysuit? :)

IMO, forget the shore and hit one of the bridges at slack high instead and it's very doable with a drysuit.

Bridges like DL Water Gap? Or the ones over the inlets like Manasquan?

I think your best bet would be to go out by dutch springs. An instructor should be able to get the place to open and do your training dives there.

The Gap might be frozen in January. Yes, I'm talking about the Manasquan &/or Shark River iinlets. DiversTwo (in Avon) even has impromptu dives over the winter usually. Then again, the SeaLion out of Brielle dives throughout the winter if you want to get on the ocean. BTW- DS isn't your best bet.
