Made our first trip out to the Flower Gardens this past weekend. We boarded Friday nite and woke the next day at the West Bank of the Flower Gardens. They are located about 110 miles off the coast. We dove Saturday and Sunday making up to 7 dives.

It was a great trip one I highly recommend. Google Fling Charters. They are out of Freeport Texas. The boat, crew and Captains were top notch and made it a great dive experience. It truly was a "eat, sleep and dive" trip!

I went on my first Flower Gardens trip earlier this month, glad to hear you enjoyed it as much as I did. I can't wait to go back out.

Air was included or you had to pay per fill?

Was nitrox available?

What depth did it take you to?

What were you doing in the evenings?

What food was like?

Sleeping arrangements?

That price includes all air (Nitrox is $75 more for the eleven-dive trip...don't know how much for the seven-dive excursion) and all meals. Soft drinks and beer are not included in that price, but they keep a tab and you simply settle up at the end of the trip. I've been going out there for over a decade, and I became so enamored with the place that I became a volunteer for the FGBNMS. Fling Charters runs a top-rate operation and I'll recommend them and the Gardens to anyone who wants to see what a truly pristine and unique reef system looks like.

Glad you had fun, along with all the others who posted that they recently made their first trip to the FG. If you're like me, you'll most likely be back!

How deep were the dives?

What do people do between the dives?

The down line anchors at around 80 feet for most of the dives. The down line for rig dive is more like 30' but the bottom is over 300' so watch your depth gauge closely on that dive.

They have food available after every dive so the routine is: eat, sleep, dive... eat, sleep, dive... eat, sleep, dive... It doesn't take long to get into that rythm. :D
