Funny, but the relative lack of night life (compared to, say, Cancun) is one of the things I like most about Cozumel. Cancun is about the night life; Cozumel is about the day life.

Speak for yourself. I love the night life, I got to boogie! I have been up regularly in Coz till the wee hours.

Seldom do I get to bed until 11 pm.

(And in the winter, it had been dark for a REALLY long time by 11 pm!!, I'm just saying....)

The worst? Well, there were some kind of biting gnats at dinner on the beach. That's about it.

I was kind of annoyed when they didn't have fish on the buffet, once.

Then there was the time I found this ginormous crab in Palancar Bricks, about as wide as my fin was long, and I couldn't get anyone to come look. Everyone says the pic was photoshopped. :furious:

The time I found the black scorpion at 30' was a little creepy. :idk:

That's why my time share includes two locations in Coz! :D

I wanted to make sure I got to read this thread before it gets deleted

Well, it's still here.

Claims to the contrary notwithstanding, I don't know of a single instance where a thread was deleted because it did not consist solely of glowing praise for Cozumel.

Same terrible experience every trip - after about a week I have to get back on an airplane and head home. That really sucks!

Now that's funny, I've seen you in action......:cool3:

WOW! Staying up until 11pm - now that's hard. Can't say I've ever done that.

Seriously

With ALL that tequila, do you REALLY know what time it is??? IJS! :eyebrow:

We've only been once. Beautiful room at Presidente; Great diving with Pedro and Christie's staff. The reef was the most beautiful diving that we had seen to that point. We are not rushing back though because: (a) Food was poor. I think our best meal was a very authentic $5 taqueria. (b) Everywhere we went, we had to be on the lookout for rip offs. From airport rushes, to taxis, to atms (even in the supermarket), to walking around the square. I always try to be prudent when I travel. But Coz seemed to present one big effort to separate me from my wallet. I have since been to Belize. The reef in Turneffe Atol was as nice as Coz. Half-moon cay was even nicer (although a trek). Food and lodging at Turneffe Island Resort kicked Presidente's butt and I did not have any to go into town. It will be tough to ever choose to go back to Coz over Belize. Coz needs to work on actually trying to appeal to tourists. You tolerate Coz to get the great reef. That's no way to build a tourist industry.

Our AI was the worst experience we have ever had traveling. While relaxing at the beach, enjoying the breeze and blue water, the waiters kept bringing us these funny little drinks every time our glasses were half empty. They had something in them that after 8 - 10 of them, made us stumble back to our room, but fortunately we were able to get some sleep and it all went away, then they repeated this action again the next day, then the next... and they wouldn't let us pay for the drinks said they were on the house.... Damn. :drunks:

We love COZ and our AI.

We have wanted to try staying in town but we always stay at the "all inclusives" south... as our biggest peeve is when we venture into town... the constant sales pitch from every business going really makes walking around frustrating. We have even tried removing our resort bracelets. Does it get any better as the business owners get to reconize you or is it a constant battle you just suck up?
